Discover the Local Taste of Peru

If you think the only thing worth missing about New York is the pizza, think again. My lifelong love affair with Peruvian food has taken me on quite the culinary adventure, and one day it led me to Macchu Picchu, nestled in the heart of Pineville, NC. Now, let me tell you, I wasn’t expecting much. After all, my Peruvian standards have been set sky-high by the bustling streets of Queens. But boy, was I in for a surprise that made me rethink everything I thought I knew about Peruvian food outside NYC!

The culinary fiesta began with my mother’s order of Ceviche a dish so zesty it could wake up a hibernating bear. It had the perfect balance of lime, marinated onions, and just the right kick to make your taste buds dance. My father played it classic with Lomo Saltado, and let's just say the sizzling sauté of tender beef, onions, and tomatoes had him practically licking the plate clean. As for me? I took the bold route with Anticuchos that were so marinated and flavorful, I had to double-check to make sure I wasn’t accidentally transported to Lima. Oh, and let’s not forget the side of Papa a la Huancaína and a refreshingly tangy Tamarind juice—a combo so satisfying I briefly considered moving closer just for regular access.

But it wasn’t just the food that stole the show. The staff at Macchu Picchu were so friendly and attentive that they could make a Michelin-star restaurant look like a DMV office. Refills? Check. Big smiles? Double check. A welcoming vibe that makes you feel like part of the family? Triple check.

So, here’s the deal: if you’re in the Charlotte area and craving a taste of Peru that hits all the right notes, you need to visit Macchu Picchu. They’re located at 315 S Polk St, Pineville, NC. Check out their menu and plan your visit by heading to their website at www.macchupicchucharlotte.com

Don’t wait—your taste buds will thank you, and so will your stomach!
